Overview

Locum to Perm Invasive Cardiology opportunity providing inpatient, outpatient, clinic, and call coverage. This position is to support an existing cardiologist during ongoing recruitment and will transition to a permanent role once onboarded.

Practice Highlights

• Inpatient, outpatient, clinic, and call responsibilities
• Call ratio: 1:6
• Average clinic volume: 10 patients per day
• Average inpatient admissions: 12–15 per physician per day
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Supervision of 4 Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) required
• Collaborative cardiology team environment
• Epic EMR

Coverage Details

• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: Until permanent physician is onboarded
• Full-time coverage required (Monday–Friday + call)
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 120 days
• Local providers only (travel limited to mileage reimbursement)

Procedures

• Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• No invasive procedures required

Candidate Requirements

• Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Certified – REQUIRED
• Advanced Heart Failure (AHF) Fellowship with LVAD experience – REQUIRED
• ACLS – REQUIRED
• Active Virginia medical license – REQUIRED
• DEA – REQUIRED
• Must be local to Richmond, VA – REQUIRED
• Clean background (temps may be offered) – REQUIRED
