General Cardiology - invasive, non-interventional position located in Sacramento area

Multispecialty group – 150+ providers Group has been in existence for over 100 years Strong retention!! Some of our providers have been with the group for 20, 30 years. Incoming physician will partner with one other cardiologist, who joined the group in 2007. Reason for hire is the other cardiologist is retiring after 30+ years of practicing. **This is a great opportunity for someone mid-career. Our current cardiologist is triple boarded and describes herself as friendly and easy to work with. She would be an excellent mentor for someone early in their career.

** Opportunity highlights:

  • 4 ½ day work week - Monday through Friday clinic
  • 2 mornings doing procedures in the hospital
  • 2 ½ days in cath lab
  • Call 1:2 – although this seems daunting, per our cardiology team call is easy - on average 0 - 3 consults from the hospital. The group has a stellar hospitalist team who manages inpatient care.

Duties include: General cardiology clinic and hospital consults Diagnostic caths (our current cardiologist does not do caths, so new doc will get all of them) Reading transthoracic echoes Interpreting holters Treadmill stress tests EKG TEEs

Not available:

  • Pacemaker implantation - the group does not have a heart doc, so these are referred to our sister group in Sacramento
  • Nuc Studies - studies are read by Mercy Radiology Group EMR system: Cerner Patient population: lots of diversity - from migrant workers to college professors

Payer Mix: HMO, PPO, Fee for service

The group has a hospitalist team who manages all inpatient care

  • Compensation $518,707 / annually (AMGA median – this is firm)
