Position Overview

Seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist for locum tenens coverage at two hospital locations in the Franklin/Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.

This is a fully onsite hospital-based role with no outpatient clinic responsibilities. The physician will provide inpatient cardiology coverage, Emergency Department support, call, and in-house call coverage.

Required Coverage Dates

The following shifts are mandatory coverage dates:

• October 29, 2026 at 7:00 AM through October 30, 2026 at 3:00 PM
• December 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM through December 2, 2026 at 7:00 AM
• January 2, 2027 at 7:00 AM through January 4, 2027 at 7:00 AM

Additional coverage dates will be determined after credentialing.

Practice Details

• Call and in-house call responsibilities
• No outpatient clinic
• Average inpatient census:
  • Approximately 8 patients at one hospital
  • Approximately 2 patients at the second hospital
• Adult patient population
• RN support onsite
• No residents or fellows
• No APP supervision required

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Interventional Cardiology coverage
• Evaluate and manage acute cardiovascular conditions
• Respond to Emergency Department cardiology consults
• Participate in call and in-house call coverage
• Perform invasive/interventional cardiology procedures within scope of practice
• Provide urgent cardiology evaluation and treatment as needed
• Collaborate with nursing and hospital-based clinical teams
• Complete documentation in real time, by end of shift, or post-shift as required

Call Expectations

• Call response: ASAP
• Return-to-site response: ASAP
• Weeknight, overnight, and 24-hour coverage may be required based on assigned dates
• Exact additional call schedule to be determined

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Cardiology
• Experience in Invasive / Interventional Cardiology
• ACLS required
• Active Wisconsin medical license required
• Facility cannot wait for state licensing
• Comfortable with inpatient, ED, call, and in-house call coverage
• Able to work the required coverage dates
