Locums - Merced, California | Interventional Cardiology Opportunity

Clinical Role

Seeking an Interventional Cardiologist for an ongoing locums opportunity in Merced, California. This is a 100% inpatient position providing interventional and general cardiac care, including cath lab coverage, consults, and rounding.

Schedule & Coverage

• Start Date: ASAP, pending credentialing
• Duration: Ongoing
• Schedule: Monday-Friday plus call
• Standard inpatient hours with after-hours call
• Call Rotation: Approximately 10-22 days per month; varies based on coverage needs
• Coverage Need: 1.0 FTE
• Reason for Coverage: Program growth and vacancy coverage

Practice Setting & Patient Population

• 100% inpatient
• Cath lab and hospital consult coverage
• No clinic or office responsibilities
• Adult and geriatric patient population

Clinical Responsibilities & Procedures

• Diagnostic cardiac catheterizations
• Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
• Inpatient cardiac consults and rounding
• Inpatient cardiac management
• Interpret unassigned EKGs and echocardiograms
• Provide interventional cardiac care to help reduce transfers to outside facilities

Support & Systems

• Dedicated Cath Lab team, including RNs and technicians
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified or Board Eligible required
• Interventional Cardiology fellowship required
• Active California license required
• Clean malpractice and background required
• Must be available to start as soon as credentialing is completed
