Job description
We are seeking a Locum Tenens Physician - Interventional Cardiology in Jackson, Michigan.
Shift: Clinic, night call, and weekend call
Start Date: 01/04/2027
End Date: Ongoing until permanent physician is hired
Position Details:
- Approximately 1.0 FTE coverage
- 4-5 shifts per week
- 2-3 clinic shifts per week
- 2 cath lab shifts per week
- Approximately 1-2 weeks of coverage per month
- Practice open to utilizing 2-3 physicians to cover need
- 60% inpatient / 40% outpatient
- Clinic volume: 18-20 patients per day
- Cath lab volume: 4-6 procedures per day
- Level II Trauma Center
- Coverage needed due to physician departure
Patient Population: Adults (18+)
Setting: Clinic and Inpatient/Hospital-Based
Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient and outpatient Interventional Cardiology coverage
- Perform cath lab procedures
- Participate in weekday and weekend call coverage
- Support APP training efforts
- Manage interventional cardiology patients in clinic and hospital settings
Required Procedures:
- Cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography
- Balloon angioplasty
- Treatment of pulmonary embolisms
- PCI with IVUS
- Stent implantation
- Atherectomy
- Valvuloplasty
- Left main PCI
- Bifurcation stenting
- Mechanical circulatory support including IABP, Impella, and ECMO
EMR System: EPIC
Support Staff: APPs
Days Per Month: Approximately 1-2 weeks per month
On-Call/Weekends:
- Weekday call: Approximately 1 night per assigned weekday coverage
- Weekend call: 1 weekend on-call shift during assigned coverage
- Call ratio: Approximately 1:6
- Call type: Beeper/Phone Call
- Average callback: 2-4 hours
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Cardiology or Truly Board Certified - Required
- Interventional Cardiology Fellowship - Required
- 1-5 Years of Experience - Required
- Active MI License or IMLC - Required
- Active BLS Certification - Required
- Active ACLS Certification - Required
- Active DEA - Required
- Experience with cardiac catheterization, PCI, stenting, atherectomy, valvuloplasty, and mechanical circulatory support - Required
