Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid medical license to practice in Virginia
- Board certification or eligibility in interventional cardiology
- Proven experience in performing coronary angiograms, PCI, and related procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
- Comfort working with EMR systems, specifically EPIC
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience managing adult and geriatric patient populations
- Prior locum or inpatient cardiology experience
- Knowledge of vascular disease management and carotid stenting
- Ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical situations
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of fellowship in cardiology with subspecialty training in interventional cardiology
- At least 3 years’ relevant clinical experience in an inpatient setting or as an interventional cardiologist
Other Requirements:
- Emergency or temporary privileges approval for practice
- Active medical license in Virginia
- Willingness to cover scheduled dates: May 1 to June 30, 2026
- Availability for weekday and weekend call duties, including evenings and nights
- Travel reimbursements for flights, hotels, and rental cars provided
