Position Overview

One of our Partners in Illinois, is seeking an Interventional Cardiologist to provide scheduled inpatient and procedural coverage with a balanced call rotation. This assignment offers strong case volume, modern facilities, and top-tier market compensation with all orientation hours billable.

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

  • Call: 1 night per week + 1 weekend per month (negotiable)

  • Setting: Acute Care Hospital (Inpatient, Cath Lab, ED consults)

  • Average Daily Census: 10–30 patients

  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks (ongoing through end of 2026)

  • Provider Pay Ranking: Top 10% nationally for Interventional Cardiology locum tenens (2025–2026 market data)

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform interventional cardiology procedures including cardiac catheterizations and coronary interventions

  • Manage STEMI activations and inpatient cardiology consults

  • Conduct inpatient rounding and ED consult coverage

  • Interpret EKGs and echocardiograms

  • Place and manage temporary pacemakers

  • Collaborate with cath lab staff, hospitalists, and emergency medicine teams

  • Document care accurately in the EMR

Skills & Experience

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Cardiology

  • Minimum 1–2 years of post-training experience (no new grads)

  • Comfortable managing high-volume inpatient and procedural workloads

  • TEE experience preferred but not required

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
