Job description
We are seeking a locum tenens Cardiologist (Interventional or General) to provide full-time coverage in Indiana. This role offers a flexible schedule split between clinic and cath lab responsibilities, supported by a collaborative care team. No STEMI call after hours and a predictable patient load make this an excellent temporary opportunity for an experienced provider.
Job Responsibilities
Perform interventional procedures including cardioversion, temporary pacemaker placement, and coronary & peripheral interventions.
Interpret cardiac diagnostic tests including echocardiograms, treadmill stress tests, and Holter monitors.
Maintain a balanced schedule with 2–3 full clinic days and 2.5 cath lab days per week.
Participate in a 1:2 patient call rotation (patient calls only, no after-hours STEMI call).
Collaborate closely with RNs, MAs, and an NP for coordinated patient care.
Document all care using Meditech EMR
Qualifications
Active Indiana medical license required (not open to licensing).
Active DEA and Indiana CSR required.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience post-training.
Vaccination requirements: MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, COVID-19, TDaP, and clear PPD.
Working Hours
Contract Length: 6–9 months
Shift: Day Shift, typically 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Schedule Options:
4.5 eight-hour days per week
Alternating 4-day and 5-day weeks
~40 hours per week
Skills
Skilled in use of Philips Cath Lab equipment.
Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
