Locum – Physician – Interventional Cardiology

📍 Location: Suffolk, Virginia
📅 Coverage Needed: 1 Week per Month (7 Nights + 1 Weekend)
🏥 Setting: 100% Inpatient – Adult & Geriatric (50/50)

Opportunity Highlights:

This is a hospital-based locum opportunity for a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist to provide recurring inpatient coverage in Suffolk, VA. The facility is seeking consistent 1-week-per-month support due to a shortage in interventional coverage. Providers must be confident managing inpatient cardiology with occasional STEMI activations and able to supervise APCs for H&P documentation.

Position Details:

• Practice Type: 100% Inpatient

• Patient Mix: 50% Adult / 50% Geriatric

• Daily Rounding Census: 15–25 patients

• Admissions/Discharges: 2–8/day (variable)

• Average Patient Stay: 2–4 days

• Beds: Census patients across multiple floors

• Night Coverage: 7 nights/week during assignment

• Weekend Requirement: 1 per month

• EMR System: EPIC (Training Provided)

• STEMI Volume: Low (approx. 15/quarter; may range 0–4/week)

Travel & Lodging:

• Lodging: Reimbursed

• Flights/Rental Car: Reimbursed

Submission Requirements:

✅ Board Certified – REQUIRED
✅ Active VA Medical License – REQUIRED (No IMLC candidates)
✅ BLS, ACLS, and ATLS – REQUIRED
✅ Clean malpractice and disciplinary history – REQUIRED
