A facility is seeking locum coverage from an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to cover an upcoming extended leave. This is a dynamic role involving a mix of inpatient, outpatient clinic, and call coverage.
📅 Coverage Dates:

Start: August 2025

End: Minimum through November 2025, with possible extension through February 2026

Setting: Inpatient, outpatient clinic & call

EMR: Cerner

Trauma Level: III
-
Hospital Beds: ~250 (Avg census 110–115)

ICU Beds: 10

Patient Demographic: Adults 18+
👨⚕️ Team Details:

Current interventional cardiologists: 1
-
Additional support: Yes – another interventional cardiologist will be present during locum coverage

Clinic Patient Volume: 12–15/day

Inpatient Volume:
-
Interventional: 1–2/day

General: 4–5/day

Job Responsibilities
PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Interventions)
Coronary & Balloon Angioplasties
Heart catheterizations
Coronary Angiograms
Embolic protection
Atherectomy
Medical management of vascular disease
Stress echos, nuclear stress tests
Reading echoes, Holter/event monitors
TEE & Cardioversions
Qualifications
Active Iowa License – Highly Preferred
BLS, ACLS – Required
Working Hours
Call Schedule:
Weekdays: 8:00 AM – 8:00 AM (next day)
Weekends: 8:00 AM Friday – 8:00 AM Monday (rotation-based)
