Are you a Board Certified Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist seeking a high-yield subspecialty contract in the New York metropolitan area? A premier tertiary regional medical center in Essex County is seeking a skilled physician for an extended 26-week locum assignment from October 26, 2026, through April 25, 2027. Featuring focused inpatient CCU and telemetry coverage, advanced mechanical circulatory support management, and a collaborative team of attendings, fellows, and APPs, this role offers an outstanding clinical opportunity.
The Opportunity
Step into an established academic-affiliated heart failure program, managing complex end-stage heart disease and advanced mechanical therapies alongside a seasoned cardiology care team.

Clinical Scope: Lead specialized inpatient heart failure care, including:

Managing high-acuity patients with advanced heart failure, end-stage heart disease, heart transplants, LVADs, and other mechanical circulatory support (MCS) systems

Directing care across Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) and telemetry floor services

Performing bedside Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) as clinically indicated

Documenting patient care and order entry via Epic EMR

The Schedule & Shift Structure: Dedicated inpatient schedule covering variable daily CCU and telemetry censuses.

Call Requirements: 1 in 5 unrestricted call rotation shared among team attendings.

Assignment Duration: 26-week contract (October 26, 2026 – April 25, 2027).

Clinical Support Structure: Collaborative care team consisting of 4 attending cardiologists, cardiology fellows, Advanced Practice Providers, and multidisciplinary specialists.
Candidate Requirements
All candidate submissions must hold subspecialty board certification and active state licensure.

Degree & Board Status: MD or DO; Board Certified (BC) in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.

Licensure: Active, unencumbered New Jersey State Medical License.

Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in end-stage heart failure, cardiac transplantation protocols, LVAD management, and temporary mechanical circulatory support.
