JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Cardiologist- Advanced Heart Failure
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Fort Myers, FL
• Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: 01/26/2026 – Ongoing
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00a – 5:00p; Overnight pager coverage (no formal call)

COVERAGE DATES
• January 26, 2026 – ongoing
• Approximately 1 week per month on-site coverage

PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adults with advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock
• Patient Volume/Census: 8–12 inpatient visits per day; 2–4 outpatient visits per day; total of 15 patients per day
• Admissions: Yes
• Rounding: Yes; inpatient rounding with intermittent APP support
• Case Mix: Advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and heart failure patients

FACILITY INFORMATION
• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
• Specialty Backup Available: Multidisciplinary surgical and cardiology support team
• Support Staff Available: APP support, RN, MA, and customer service representative
• Reason for Coverage: Support for Advanced Heart Failure Center

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: 30 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Daily OT after 8 hours
Weekly OT after 168 hours
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Active Florida license preferred
• Board: BC/BE by ABIM in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant required
• DEA
• Certifications: Completion of an ACGME accredited heart failure fellowship required
• NPDB Report (within 3 month)
• Experience: More than 5 years post-fellowship experience preferred; proficiency in short-term mechanical support devices such as Impella and ECMO required, xperience managing advanced HF and cardiogenic shock
• Other Qualifications: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work within a multidisciplinary team; motivated to support a growing practice

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide inpatient and outpatient clinical management of advanced heart failure patients
• Round on inpatient Advanced Heart Failure service
• Deliver ambulatory care for heart failure patients
• Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary care teams
• Manage cases requiring short-term mechanical circulatory support devices such as Impella and ECMO
• Participate in an integrated cardiology and surgical care model focused on comprehensive heart failure services
