A well-established regional cardiovascular group in Sioux City, Iowa, is seeking an experienced Electrophysiologist for ongoing locum tenens coverage. The position offers a balanced schedule of clinic, procedures, and shared call, with strong support from a collaborative team of physicians and APPs.
Position Details-
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Procedure/OR Days: 2–3 per week

On Call: Shared call with 3 interventionalists

EP locum to take general call on weekends preceding or succeeding weekday assignments

Practice Setting: Hospital-based clinic

Physicians: 3

Advanced Practice Providers: 5

Supervision: Yes – supervision of APPs expected

Physician:Nurse Ratio: 1:1

Ancillary Staff: 2:1 support ratio

Exam Rooms per Provider: 5

Clinic Volume: 20–25 patients/day

Hospital Census: 10–20 cardiology patients/day

Appointment Length: 15–30 minutes

Patient Demographics: Adult; serving Siouxland and surrounding region (~100,000 population)

Outpatient clinic visits (new and established)

Electrophysiology procedures, including:
-
EP studies
-
Ablations (AFib, AFlutter, SVT, PVC, VT)
-
Pacemaker/ICD/temp pacer/loop recorder insertions
-
Generator changes
-
Cardioversions
-
TEEs
-
-
Device monitoring and reprogramming (loop, pacemaker, ICD)
-
In-clinic and remote device transmissions
-
Shared inpatient rounding responsibilities
-
Teaching and mentoring opportunities (interns and preceptors)
-
Facility: Regional cardiovascular center
-
EMR: Cerner PowerChart
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology/Electrophysiology (Required)

Fellowship Trained in Electrophysiology (Required)

Active Iowa License or IMLC (Required)

Clean Malpractice Record (Required)

Availability: Must be available full-time (2+ weeks/month)
