JOB OVERVIEW

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Job Title: Cardiac Electrophysiologist
- Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
- Location: Munster, IN
- Service Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
- Schedule: Monday Friday; dedicated procedural and clinic time allocation
- On-Call Expectations: Shared call within the cardiology department
- Start Date: Upon completion of credentialing (approximately 90120 days post-offer) PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE
- Patient Demographics: Adult and geriatric populations with complex cardiac rhythm disorders
- Average Daily Volume / Census: Dependent on procedural and clinic schedules across system hospitals
- Admissions & Rounding: Included
- Consults & Follow-Ups: Yes
- Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: Atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia ablations, device implantation and extraction, left atrial appendage closure, and management of cardiac arrhythmias FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS
- Beds in Department/Unit: Primary practice within 460-bed tertiary hospital
- EMR System: Epic
- Specialty Backup: Full cardiovascular service line, including interventional cardiology, structural cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and advanced cardiac imaging
- Support Staff: Experienced device clinic team and nurse practitioner support across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Leadership & Reporting Structure: Reports to the Medical Director of Cardiology
- Reason for Opening: Expansion due to increased procedural volume and continued system growth CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE

Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology (ACGME fellowship trained)
- DEA & Certifications: Active DEA; BLS and ACLS required

- State License Required: Indiana medical license or eligibility to obtain
- Certifications: DEA, BLS, ACLS
- Experience: Fellowship-trained Electrophysiologist; experience in ablation and device management required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform advanced cardiac electrophysiology procedures including AF, SVT, and VT ablations
- Conduct device implantation, extraction, and left atrial appendage closure procedures
- Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient follow-up care
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and contribute to ongoing cardiovascular trials
- Collaborate with a team of interventional and noninvasive cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and advanced practice providers
- Utilize Epic EMR for comprehensive documentation and continuity of care
- Engage in continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice development COMMUNITY & LOCATION HIGHLIGHTS
