Practice Setting and Clinical Scope

The practice is based in a busy acute care hospital that serves a diverse adult and geriatric patient population. As a Hand Surgeon, you will be responsible for covering emergency department calls and handling transfer center inquiries related primarily to hand injuries. This role does not require reimplantation, allowing you to focus on providing quality care in urgent situations. The practice environment is dynamic and requires adaptability to meet the diverse needs of patients.

Schedule and Assignment Details

This locum position requires 24-hour call coverage from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., including weekends. The assignment begins as soon as possible with unknown end dates, providing flexibility and the opportunity to arrange ongoing dates as schedules are developed. Physicians must be available for any of the specified dates and should detail their monthly shift availability for consideration.

Support and Work Environment

While this role is independent, you will be part of a supportive environment with access to the hospital's electronic medical records system, EPIC. Although there is no direct support staff, the hospital is committed to ensuring that physicians have the resources needed to provide optimal care. Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Hand Surgery is required.
  • Completion of a Hand Surgery Fellowship is mandatory.
  • An active CO license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact is required.
  • A clean malpractice/background check is essential.
  • DEA certification is highly preferred and must be transferrable for the duration of the assignment.
