• Position: Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist - General
• Location: Eureka, CA 95501
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $9,980-$10,520
• Start Date: January 1, 2027
• End Date: Ongoing coverage
• Coverage Type: Inpatient anesthesia services
• Schedule Type: Clinic and call
• Call Coverage: Weeknight beeper call and 24-hour weekend beeper call
• Shift Structure: Weekday shifts may vary from 8 to 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 8 per day
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days
• Schedule Expectation: Night and weekend coverage required
• Case Mix: Broad anesthesia practice with a strong variety of surgical specialties

Job Requirements

• MD or DO with Anesthesiology training
• Active medical license and DEA registration required
• Board certified or truly board eligible in Anesthesiology
• Minimum of 1 year of anesthesia experience required
• Strong experience with general anesthesia for adult and pediatric patients
• Experience with spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia
• Experience with obstetrical, neurosurgical, thoracic, complex vascular, and complex orthopedic cases
• Comfortable with pain management techniques, post-op epidurals, and extremity blocks
• Proficient in ventilation management and acute volume/blood pressure management
• Skilled in central line and arterial line placement
• Team-oriented and comfortable supporting a shared call schedule

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical cases
• Manage adult, pediatric, obstetrical, neurosurgical, thoracic, vascular, and orthopedic anesthesia needs
• Perform and support spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia techniques
• Deliver pain management services, including post-operative epidurals and extremity blocks
• Monitor and manage ventilation, hemodynamics, and intraoperative patient stability
• Place central and arterial lines as clinically indicated
• Participate in clinic and call coverage, including nights and weekends
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia colleagues to ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation
