Practice Setting and Clinical Scope

This is an inpatient/hospital-based role with a 100% focus on adult patient care. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including routine deliveries, decision-making for C-sections, and handling complicated deliveries such as breeches and multiple births. You will also perform VBACs and repair 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations. The hospital provides a supportive environment with on-site labs, ultrasound, and a well-equipped labor and delivery suite. Midwives are available to take call and deliver their own patients, allowing you to focus on more complex cases.

Schedule and Assignment Details

Engage in a 24-hour call schedule from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., covering essential on-call duties. The assignment requires availability from November 25 to 29, with additional shifts available monthly. This position ensures you will have the opportunity to provide critical support and continuity of care in the community.

Support and Work Environment

Join a supportive team that includes midwives and other healthcare professionals dedicated to delivering top-tier care. The hospital maintains a nursery level II and handles approximately 700-800 deliveries annually, with 140-190 labor and delivery triage visits per month. The EMR system in use is EPIC, ensuring efficient documentation and patient management.

Qualifications

• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• A valid Kentucky license or active IMLC is required.
• BLS and DEA certifications are mandatory.
• Prior experience in a similar setting is preferred, but not required.
