Job Details
- Position: Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist
- Specialty Focus: General anesthesiology with case exposure that may include general surgery, neuroanesthesia, orthopedics, and pediatrics
- Openings: 2
- Start Date: 10/01/2026
- Duration: 14 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,830 - $3,300
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Schedule Notes: One opening supports a full-time weekday schedule, and the other provides PRN anesthesia coverage for vacations and short-staffing needs
- Privileging Timeframe: Approximately 60 days
- Location: Fayetteville, NC offers a friendly community atmosphere with convenient access to local amenities and nearby recreation
Job Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- Completion of an approved residency in Anesthesiology
- Board certification or fellowship required
- Current physician license required; candidates needing to obtain a North Carolina state license may be considered
- ECFMG and FLEX required, if applicable
- At least 1 year of anesthesiology experience required
- Ability to work in a collaborative operating room setting and support supervision of CRNAs
Responsibilities
- Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the anesthesia department
- Provide medical management for patients undergoing surgery and other procedures
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and verify patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
- Induce, maintain, and emerge patients safely from anesthesia
- Monitor physiological status throughout the procedure and respond to changes as needed
- Deliver clinical intervention when necessary to support patient safety
- Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and perioperative teams to help ensure efficient, high-quality care
