Shift: Monday–Friday 8–10 hour day shifts with unrestricted overnight and weekend call (24-hour call coverage)

Highlights:

• Provide cardiac anesthesia services at an urban academic hospital with a Level I Trauma Center.
• High-volume cardiac practice performing approximately 360–450 cardiac cases annually.
• Opportunity to manage complex cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart procedures while also assisting with general OR cases.

Details:

Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients only.

Setting: Urban academic hospital.

Responsibilities:

• Provide anesthesia care for open heart, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart procedures.
• Perform comprehensive perioperative cardiac anesthesia services.
• Assist with general operating room cases as needed.
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, CRNAs, and multidisciplinary surgical teams.
• Provide overnight, weekend, and 24-hour call coverage.

Required Procedures:

• Cardiac anesthesia.
• Open heart surgery anesthesia.
• Thoracic and vascular anesthesia.
• Structural heart procedures.
• Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE).
• General anesthesia cases as needed.

EMR System: Epic

Support Staff: Cardiac surgeons, CRNAs, operating room staff, cardiology teams, and multidisciplinary clinical support.

Days Per Month: Coverage needed for the following dates:

• July 27 – August 2 (Priority)
• August 17 – August 21
• September 7 – September 11
• November 16 – November 20
• November 23 – November 27
• December 21 – December 27

On-Call/Weekends:
Required overnight, weekend, and 24-hour call coverage.

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology.
• Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship required.
• TEE Certified (required).
• Nebraska license or IMLC highly preferred (license candidates considered).
• Clean malpractice and background history highly preferred.
