Anesthesiology Medical Director Opening Outside of Baton Rouge, LA

Seeking BC/BE Anesthesiologist to serve as Medical Director of Anesthesiology in Zachary, Louisiana, just north of Baton Rouge
Position Highlights:
- Leadership opportunity combining clinical practice and administrative responsibilities
- Non-call position with optional beeper call from home for additional compensation
- Clinical responsibilities 4-5 days per week
- Personally perform cases approximately 2 days per week
- Partner with CRNAs, surgeons, and hospital leadership to support and grow anesthesia services
- Lead the transition to a collaborative anesthesia care team model
- Opportunity to develop a flexible practice model including:
- Independent CRNA practice
- Non-medically directed supervision
- Personally performed physician anesthesia cases
- Modern surgical department with 5-6 anesthetizing locations
- Broad case mix including:
- General Surgery
- Orthopedics
- Gastroenterology
- OB/GYN
- Bariatric Surgery
- Endoscopy
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight of anesthesia services
- Collaborate with hospital administration and surgical leadership
- Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Assist with provider recruitment, retention, and team development
- Lead operational growth and service line expansion efforts
- Facilitate implementation of collaborative anesthesia care models
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide anesthesia care across multiple surgical specialties
- Participate in perioperative patient management
- Collaborate with CRNAs and multidisciplinary care teams
- Maintain high standards of clinical quality and patient safety
- Deliver patient-centered anesthesia care
Qualifications:
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anesthesiology
- Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure
- Leadership experience preferred
- Interest in anesthesia practice development and team leadership
Compensation & Benefits:
- Minimum: $475,000 / Max: $558,000+
