Full Time

Seeking BC/BE Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join growing cardiac anesthesia program in Rochester, New York
Position Highlights:
Cardiac anesthesiologists spend approximately 60–70% of clinical time in cardiac and thoracic anesthesia
Opportunity to participate in general anesthesia cases based on physician preference
Physician-driven scheduling model with flexibility in case selection
Practice at the top of training in both personally performed and supervisory care models
Stable and growing cardiac program with strong institutional support
Physician-led department with collaborative leadership
No non-compete clauses or exclusivity requirements
Clinical Responsibilities:
Provide anesthesia care for:
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
- Valve repair and replacement procedures
- LVAD implantation
- Minimally invasive cardiac surgery
Support structural heart procedures including:
- TAVR
- MitraClip
- Watchman
Provide anesthesia for thoracic surgical procedures
Support complex vascular surgery cases
Deliver perioperative care including preoperative evaluation, intraoperative management, and postoperative assessment
Supervise CRNAs and collaborate within team-based anesthesia care model
Call Schedule:
One weekday home cardiac call per week
One weekend home cardiac call approximately every 5–8 weeks
Cardiac call activation rate approximately 10%
Reduced in-house overnight general anesthesia call (approximately once monthly)
Guaranteed post-call day off following overnight in-house call shifts
Early relief prioritized following overnight cardiac call activations
Qualifications:
MD or DO
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anesthesiology
Fellowship training in Cardiac Anesthesiology preferred
Active New York license or ability to obtain
Advanced perioperative echocardiography experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
$400K-$600K
