We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Anesthesiologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity along Florida’s Gulf Coast at a well-established community hospital.
This position offers a flexible weekday schedule with optional call coverage, working alongside a collaborative anesthesia team supporting multiple procedural areas including the OR, OB, Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology. The case mix includes a wide variety of procedures such as ENT, GYN, orthopedics, spine, plastics, podiatry, urology, and endoscopy.

Job Responsibilities
Deliver anesthesia care across multiple procedural areas including the OR, OB, Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology
Perform pre-operative patient evaluations and develop anesthesia care plans
Administer and monitor anesthesia during procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort
Provide post-anesthesia care and manage patient recovery as needed
Collaborate with CRNAs, surgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams
Participate in scheduled shifts and backup call coverage when assigned
Accurately document patient care in the EMR system
Follow hospital protocols and anesthesia best practices to maintain high standards of patient care
Qualifications
Active Florida medical license (or ability to obtain)
Active DEA registration
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
Recent clinical experience in a broad range of anesthesia cases
Ability to work within a collaborative anesthesia care team model
Must provide 24 months of recent case logs for credentialing
Working Hours
Late Day Coverage: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (OR / OB support)
Evening Coverage: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (OR / OB support)
Weeknight Backup Call: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend Backup Call: Saturday – Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM

Skills
Strong airway management and critical care skills
Ability to manage diverse case types including orthopedic, ENT, GYN, spine, plastics, urology, and endoscopy procedures
Experience working in a collaborative anesthesia care team model with CRNAs and surgical staff
Excellent patient assessment and perioperative care planning
Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond quickly in high-acuity situations
Effective communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary hospital environment
Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation and care coordination
