Anesthesiologist Needed in the San Diego Coastal Region of Southern California
Start Date: April 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks (ongoing)
Schedule
Day shift
Call required
Schedule details vary based on surgical/OR needs
Provider participates in standard OR call rotation
Practice Details
Acute care hospital environment
Full-scope anesthesia practice across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care
MDs collaborate with the surgical team and other clinical staff
Responsibilities include patient assessments, formulating anesthesia plans, administering anesthesia, airway management, intra-operative monitoring, and post-anesthesia recovery oversight
EMR system varies by department
Clinical Scope
Case responsibilities include:
Comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluation
General anesthesia administration
Airway management
Continuous intra-operative monitoring and adjustments
Post-operative emergence and recovery management
Acute pain control
Collaboration with multidisciplinary surgical teams
High-acuity decision-making in real time
Requirements
Physician โ Anesthesiology
Board Certified
Active California medical license required
DEA required
Ability to provide full-scope anesthesia care across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases
Experience handling critical intra-operative changes
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Credentialing
Standard hospital credentialing process
Full onboarding required
Location
San Diego coastal region โ hospital setting within an adjacent metropolitan community.
