Our client, a leading multi-specialty physician practice committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the Hudson Valley region, is hiring a Gastroenterologist. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive outpatient gastrointestinal care within a collaborative, technologically advanced environment, supporting community health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatic, and biliary disorders.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, polypectomy, biopsy, and hemostasis.
- Manage chronic GI conditions such as IBS, IBD, GERD, liver disease, and oversee colorectal cancer screening.
- Interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory results, imaging, and pathology reports.
- Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with current clinical guidelines.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in quality improvement activities, clinical meetings, and ongoing medical education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Supervise Advanced Practice Providers as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
- Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Active and unrestricted New York State medical license or eligibility.
- Current DEA registration.
- Proven commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Strong clinical judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems.
