Locum Anesthesiologist Opportunities in Iowa!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking an urgent locum Anesthesiologist specializing in Obstetrics to provide full-time, inpatient OB anesthesia services. This role supports a high-volume delivery center and requires independent practice without CRNA or APP supervision. The position is exclusively focused on OB services at the MercyOne Genesis Davenport Campus.

Dates & Schedule

• Start Date: March 22 (urgent need)

• Schedule: 7 days per week (full-time locum coverage)

• Shift Type: 24-hour in-house call

• Work Rule: Physicians may work only 2–3 consecutive days at a time

• Candidates must indicate availability to start March 22 or provide earliest possible start date.

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Practice Setting: Inpatient only (no clinic duties)

• Service Line: OB services exclusively

• Annual Volume: ~2,100 deliveries

• C-section Rate: 25%

• Inpatient OB Hospitalist: Yes

• CRNA Coverage: None

• Supervision of APPs: Not required

• Telehealth: Not utilized

• Medical Imaging, Lab, Pharmacy: Available onsite

• EMR System: Cerner

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology – Required

• Specialization in Obstetrics – Required

• Active Iowa (IA) Medical License – Required

• Experienced provider – Required

• Clean malpractice and background history – Required

  • NPDB report must be uploaded (pulled within last 30 days or within 90 days)

• Must clearly state OB specialization at time of submission
