- Assignment Dates: January 5, 2026 – June 30, 2026
- Shift Options: 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts available
- Shifts per Week: 5
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Call Coverage: Weeknight and/or weekend call required (1:14 rotation)
- Employment Type: Locum tenens (travel/contract anesthesiologist job)
Anesthesiologist Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency
- Active and unrestricted medical license (Virginia preferred for Virginia healthcare jobs)
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Anesthesiology
- Minimum 1 year of experience in general anesthesia
- Experience with adult anesthesia required; pediatric anesthesia experience preferred
- Proficiency in spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia techniques
- Ability to manage complex orthopedic, neurosurgical (spine), obstetrical, and vascular cases
- Competency in ventilation management and central/arterial line insertion
- Willingness to participate in call coverage as scheduled
Anesthesiologist Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for general, orthopedic, neurosurgical (spine), obstetrical, and vascular procedures
- Deliver anesthesia services for adult and pediatric patients (pediatric anesthesia preferred)
- Perform spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia
- Participate in cardiac cath lab cases (excluding open heart and thoracic)
- Manage ventilation and monitor patients intraoperatively
- Insert and manage central and arterial lines
- Participate in weeknight and weekend call rotations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, academic hospital environment
