Cardiac Anesthesiology Opening – Belleville, Illinois
Location: Belleville, IL

Seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join a single-hospital cardiac anesthesia program in Belleville, Illinois. This position offers a unique 26-week annual schedule with a high-acuity cardiac case mix and a team-based care model.
Position Highlights:
26-week position annually
Schedule structured as 26 weeks on with call and 26 weeks completely off
Configurable scheduling options including one week on/one week off or two weeks on/two weeks off
Monday through Sunday daytime coverage with beeper call evenings and weekends
30-minute response time for call
Single-hospital coverage with no commuting between sites
Team-based model supervising 2–3 operating rooms with experienced cardiac CRNAs
One dedicated cardiac room and one general room (occasionally two)
Case mix includes cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and electrophysiology procedures (TAVR, Watchman)
No transplants, trauma, obstetrics, or pediatrics
Approximately 200 open-heart cases annually
Anesthesiologists perform transesophageal echocardiography for open-heart cases
Dedicated anesthesia technologists and strong collaboration with cardiac surgeons and cardiologists
Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
Fellowship training in Cardiac Anesthesiology preferred
Eligible for Illinois medical licensure
Proficiency in transesophageal echocardiography
Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary of $650,000 annually
