We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pathologists Assistant to join our dynamic laboratory team. This vital role offers the opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment, supporting the processing of specimens from our University Hospital OR. If you are passionate about pathology, meticulous in your work, and eager to contribute to meaningful patient outcomes, this is the perfect position for you.

As a Pathologists Assistant Laboratory, you will primarily handle benign lesion cases, colon cancer resections, and native liver specimens, with opportunities for procurement for research and tissue selection for karyotyping and biopsy grossing. Your expertise will directly support diagnostic accuracy and research advancement, making a real impact every day.

Required Skills:
  • Certified Pathologists Assistant (ASCP) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of pathology laboratory experience
  • Strong understanding of gross examination and tissue handling
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience working with research specimens and procedures
  • Prior experience with procurement and research tissue processing
  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems and digital pathology tools

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Certified Pathologists Assistant (ASCP) credential
  • At least 2 years of previous experience in a clinical or research pathology laboratory setting

Other Requirements:
  • Medical screening, including vaccination verification, prior to employment
  • Background check completion prior to start date
  • Must be able to work the designated shift (09:30 - 18:00) and adapt to workload demands
  • Willingness to adhere to all safety and compliance protocols

This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $75.62, with benefits including weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical coverage, paid sick leave, licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable.
