Anesthesiologist Needed in New York (24-Hour Call Coverage)
Target Start Date: March 23, 2026
Contract Length: 13-week assignment, flexible extensions
Schedule
Coverage Type: 24-hour call
Shift Structure & Expectations:
24-hour call shifts: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Mix of weekday and weekend call
Multiple call blocks throughout March–July
Full weekend call stretches included (Friday 7 a.m.–Monday 7 a.m.)
Call Blocks Needing Coverage:
Weekday call only:
March 23–27 (call on 3/25)
April 13–17 (call on 4/15)
April 20–24 (call on 4/21)
Weekday + weekend call:
May 15–22 (calls on 5/18, 5/19, 5/20 + full weekend 5/15–5/18)
May 25–June 5 (calls on 5/26, 5/27, 6/1, 6/2, 6/3 + full weekend 5/29–6/1)
June 26–July 2 (calls on 6/22, 6/29 + full weekend 6/26–6/29)

Practice Details
Setting:
Inpatient anesthesia practice within a regional acute care hospital
Mix of adult and limited pediatric cases
Team model with collaboration between anesthesiologists and CRNAs
Hospital includes OB services, procedural areas, and surgical specialties
Department Focus:
24-hour call anesthesia coverage
Epidurals, spinals, general anesthesia
Coverage for scheduled surgeries and emergent cases
Possible CRNA supervision
Broad case mix across inpatient surgical services
Support Staff:
Unit includes:
1 RN
1 CNA
109-bed hospital
Credentialing Timeframe: ~90 days

Procedures & Case Types:
General anesthesia
OB anesthesia (epidurals, spinals)
Regional anesthesia
Acute inpatient procedural coverage
Support for emergency surgical cases
Some limited pediatric exposure
Additional Details:
Patient census typically 10–15
Adults + pediatrics
Acute, mixed-acuity hospital population
Automated medication system: Pyxis
Requirements
Role: Physician — Anesthesiology
Board Certification: Preferred (will consider BE)
License: Must hold active New York medical license
DEA: Required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent anesthesia experience
Ability to independently manage 24-hour call
Strong competency in OB anesthesia, general anesthesia, and line placement
Skills Required:
Epidurals and spinals
Regional anesthesia
Management of adult and limited pediatric cases
Comfort with 24-hour call responsibilities
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
