Job description Anesthesiologist Needed in Florida
Target Start Date: April 22, 2026
Contract Length: Ongoing — variable monthly shift needs (10–20 shifts/month)

Schedule
Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours + required call
Shift Structure & Expectations:

8-hour day shifts
12-hour day shifts with 12 hours of call
24-hour weekend call
Must be fully flexible to work all shift types (required for consideration)
Onsite call coverage; day off provided after first call
Call frequency varies weekly (not a 7-on/7-off model)

Practice Details
Setting:

Multi-facility float pool across three regional hospitals
Hospital-based anesthesia practice with broad case mix
No trauma, OB, or pediatrics at one of the primary sites

Department Focus:

General anesthesia across multiple surgical services
Stroke center support (stroke call participation)
Mix of personally performed and supervised anesthesia care
Providers must rotate across all participating facilities

Work Expectations:

Independent management of anesthesia cases, especially evenings and weekends
Perform and supervise anesthesia services across a wide surgical scope
Provide ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia (TAP/ESP blocks preferred)
Participate in Cath Lab and cardiac-related anesthesia when needed
Cross-credentialing at three hospitals required
Orientation typically 3–5 days based on staffing availability

Credentialing Timeframe:

Typical processing: 60–90 days
Temporary privileges available case-by-case

Procedures & Case Types:

Cardiac anesthesia (CABG, valvular, thoracic; dedicated cardiac team available)
Orthopedic
Neurosurgery
General surgery
Gastroenterology/Endoscopy
Cath Lab: cardioversions, TEEs, pacemakers, AICDs, Watchman, ablations
Urology
Vascular

Additional Details:

QZ model; no medical direction
Anesthesiologists perform all cases after 7 p.m. on weekdays and 24/7 on weekends
CRNAs may be called in to assist for limited weekend daytime coverage
No OB, no labor epidurals
Ultrasound-guided blocks encouraged; epidurals not routinely used


Requirements
Role: Physician — Anesthesiology
Board Certification: Required
License: Must hold active Florida license (not willing to license)
DEA: Required
Experience:

Strong experience with broad adult case mix
Ability to work across multiple facilities and variable schedules

Skills Required:

Ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia
Management of high-acuity adult cases
Comfort working independently during after-hours coverage
Ability to handle a mix of general and occasional cardiac cases

Additional Requirement:

Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of all participating facilities
