Anesthesiology Locum Tenens Physician

Position Overview

This is a high-paying anesthesiologist locums opportunity at a Level II trauma program in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The assignment provides exposure to a wide case mix including OB, thoracic, cardiac, ortho, endoscopy, and healthy pediatrics.

Providers must be willing to work 50 hours per week and perform solo cases when needed. This role is best suited for anesthesiologists seeking strong earning potential, a stable schedule, and a traveler-friendly location. Floating to close by location as needed.

Pay Ranking: Top 10% nationally for locums anesthesiology.

Assignment Highlights

• Joint Commission–certified agency

• 6-month contract | 50 hours/week required

• Monday–Friday day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

• Must be willing to do solo cases (deal breaker)

• Regional block skills preferred (not required)

• Practice model: medical direction (1:3 MDA:CRNA ratio)

• Prepaid travel and malpractice insurance included

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise CRNAs and perform anesthesia for a broad surgical case mix

• Perform solo cases when requested

• Provide blocks (preferred but not required)

• Float between three clinical sites as scheduled

• Document accurately in Epic EMR

• Participate in efficient OR turnaround and multidisciplinary collaboration

Skills & Experience

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology

• Active VA medical license (or proof of application in process)

• Comfortable supervising CRNAs and doing own cases

• Regional anesthesia experience preferred

• Previous Level II trauma experience a plus

• Flexible to float between multiple facilities
