We are seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist with Critical Care fellowship training to join a growing ICU and surgical team at a Level II Trauma Center in Jackson, Michigan. This role combines high-acuity CVICU coverage with a broad and engaging anesthesia practice, offering strong collaboration, teaching opportunities, and long-term career growth.

Position Overview

  • Provide 8–12 weeks per year of service in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), including home call coverage

  • Oversee and collaborate with a growing team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) caring for complex post-operative patients, including:

    • Cardiac surgery

    • Major vascular procedures

    • TAVR patients

  • Deliver comprehensive anesthesia services during non-ICU weeks, including:

    • General OR coverage

    • Obstetric anesthesia

    • Healthy pediatric cases

  • Share OR call responsibilities proportionally based on ICU coverage

  • Participate in clinical decision-making, protocol development, and coordinated patient care

  • Engage in teaching and mentoring residents and APPs

  • Utilize Epic EMR for integrated clinical documentation

  • Start date: ASAP

Candidate Requirements
Board Eligible (must become Board Certified within 2 years) or Board Certified in Anesthesiology – Required
Fellowship-trained in Critical Care Medicine – Required
Michigan medical license (or willingness to obtain) – Required
DEA (must be obtained prior to start; no exemptions) – Required
CSR/CDS (must be obtained prior to start) – Required
BLS, ACLS, PALS (or willingness to obtain prior to start) – Required
Current COVID and flu vaccinations – Required

Working Hours
