Anesthesiologist – Locum Opportunity
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY 12601
Start Date: November 2, 2025
Shift: 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM
We are seeking Anesthesiologists for locum coverage at a large medical center in Poughkeepsie, New York. This is a supplemental assignment with ongoing coverage needs. The site offers a collaborative environment with CRNA support and a wide variety of case types.
Key Details:
- Case types include General, Neuro, Ortho, and OB
- 21 anesthesia rooms
- CRNA to MD ratio: 3:1
- MDs supervise CRNAs and also perform their own cases
- Charting system: Cerner
- No in-house or pager call required
- Overtime offered but not expected
- Estimated privileging timeframe: 60 days
- Willing to license candidates who accept offers and apply promptly
- Board certification or fellowship not required
Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate activities in the Anesthesia Department
- Manage patients undergoing surgery and medical procedures
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks
- Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitor physiological condition and intervene as needed
Requirements:
- M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- Completion of approved residency in Anesthesia
- ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
