Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases or abnormalities
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids as needed
- Provide expert advice on eye care practices and recommend treatment plans
- Refer patients to Ophthalmologists as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic systems
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies
- Utilize autorefractor and optomap equipment to expedite patient care
- Address mostly routine optometry cases, with complex cases referred to nearby hospitals
Additional Information
- Proven experience in optometric services required
- Familiarity with monitoring and interpretation of eye conditions
- Knowledge of optometric products, services, and procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic health record software
- Understanding of billing principles related to optometry
