Locum Anesthesiologist – Waterloo, IA
Start Date: January/February 2026
Position Type: Full-Time Locum (will consider 2 weeks/month availability)
Facility & Team
Group: 6 physicians + 2 CRNAs
OR Rooms: 13
EMR: Epic (transitioning May 2025)
Daily Volume: ~30–50 cases department-wide
Job Responsibilities
OB: Yes (includes TOLAC)
Pediatrics: Yes (mainly tonsils/adenoids)
General Anesthesia with healthy peds and OB
No hearts or neurosurgery
Conscious Sedation required
Some supervision involved
Qualifications
Board Certified in Anesthesiology (No BE accepted)
Active IA license or IMLC (LOQ required at submission)
ACLS (can be obtained during credentialing)
Available at least 2 weeks/month
COVID vaccination required
Clean malpractice record — no settled or pending cases
Working Hours
Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Weekend coverage: Call only (1st, 2nd, 3rd call rotation – 1st call called in ~75% of the time)
Night Call: Every 3–4 days (7 days/week rotation)
No clinic work
Skills
(Rates include malpractice coverage)
Hourly: $380–$400/hr (negotiable)
Night Call: $600/night
24-Hour Call: $1,800–$2,200 (includes 6 gratis hours)
Holiday rates apply where applicable
Travel
All travel logistics covered (flights, lodging, and transportation arranged)
