Job description
We are seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist with fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine to join our integrated ICU and surgical team, a high-acuity Level 2 Trauma Center in Jackson, Michigan. This is a unique and fulfilling hybrid role offering a dynamic mix of critical care and anesthesia practice, ideal for physicians who value collaboration, innovation, and career growth.
This position is not open to Locum, Locum-to-Perm, or candidates with lapsed board certifications. Candidates commuting more than one hour or holding other clinical positions concurrently will not be considered.

Job Responsibilities
Supervise a growing team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) caring for complex post-operative patients (e.g., cardiac surgery, major vascular, TAVR).
Deliver comprehensive anesthesia services during non-ICU weeks including:
General OR cases
Obstetric anesthesia
Healthy pediatric cases
Participate in OR call rotation, proportionally reduced based on ICU coverage.
Contribute to clinical decision-making, protocol development, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
Collaborate with an experienced, multidisciplinary trauma and surgical team.
Engage in resident and APP education and mentorship.
Utilize Epic EMR for integrated and seamless patient documentation.
Uphold the department’s commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications
(Board Certification required within 2 years if not currently certified) – Required
Fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine – Required
Michigan medical license or willingness to obtain – Required
BLS, ACLS, PALS Certifications (or willing to obtain prior to start) – Required
DEA and CSR/CDS licenses (must be obtained prior to start) – Required
COVID-19 and Flu Vaccinations – Required
Clean malpractice and license history – Required
Must be able to start ASAP
Working Hours
Non-ICU Weeks: General OR, OB, and pediatric anesthesia cases
Weekend Rotation: Included, based on ICU/OR schedules
On-Call:
Home call during ICU weeks
OR call proportionally adjusted based on ICU coverage
Skills
Proficiency in delivering safe and effective anesthesia across various patient demographics
Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership skills
Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced hospital environments
Passion for teaching, mentoring, and protocol development
Comfortable using Epic EMR for clinical documentation
Adaptability and commitment to continuous professional development
