We are seeking an Optometrist for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California starting Oct 27, 2025. This opportunity offers a full-time Monday through Friday schedule, with the possibility of 4-10s and some floating based on assignment needs. The role involves providing comprehensive eye care, including exams, yearly check-ups, and diagnosis and treatment of vision conditions, primarily serving a patient population that is 75 percent Spanish-speaking and 78 percent Medical/Medicaid.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform comprehensive eye exams and yearly check-ups
- Diagnose and treat a range of vision conditions
- Provide care to a predominantly Spanish-speaking patient base, utilizing translators and Spanish-speaking medical assistants as needed
- Serve a patient panel that is primarily Medical/Medicaid insured
- Accurately document all patient encounters in Epic EMR
- Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure quality patient care
Additional Information
- Must be licensed to practice optometry in California
- Active California DEA and furnishing license required
- Board certification in Optometry required
- Locum experience and FQHC, Rural Health, or IHS experience are favorable
- Minimum one year of recent clinical experience required; candidates with recent gaps in practice will not be considered
