Job description
A leading healthcare system in Troy, NY is seeking a Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist to provide full-time coverage starting September 2025 (or as soon as credentialed). This hospital-based role includes both direct patient care and CRNA supervision. The provider will handle a mix of anesthesia cases across adult and limited pediatric populations in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia
- Supervise CRNAs (MD:CRNA ratio 1:3/4)
- Rotate through 8 operating rooms
- Participate in beeper weekend call (7a–7a) and night call (7p–7a)
- Use Epic EMR system for documentation
- Work with primarily geriatric and adult patients, with occasional pediatric dental/eye cases
Qualifications
- Active New York State medical license or willingness to obtain – REQUIRED
- Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications – REQUIRED
- Experience supervising CRNAs – REQUIRED
- Comply with all credentialing processes - REQUIRED
Working Hours
- Weekend Call: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (beeper)
- Night Call: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Full-time schedule, starting September 2025 or upon credentialing
Skills
- Strong supervisory skills for managing CRNAs
- Efficient and accurate documentation using Epic EMR
- Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
- Comfortable managing a diverse patient and case mix
