Job description

Job description A well-established and reputable private anesthesia practice in Albany, New York is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiac Anesthesiologists for full-time opportunities. The practice supports a high-volume inpatient heart center across two hospital campuses in the Albany-Troy area.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver anesthesia care for complex cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG and valve surgeries
Perform and interpret TEE procedures (ECHO Board Certification and/or Cardiac Fellowship required)
Participate in pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care of cardiac patients
Work closely with a team of cardiac surgeons, nurses, and support staff to ensure quality outcomes
Contribute to the development and optimization of cardiac anesthesia protocols
Rotate across two hospital campuses located in Albany and Troy
No OB or trauma cases; no CRNA supervision required

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (within 5 years of eligibility) – Required
ECHO Board Certification and/or completion of Cardiac Fellowship – Required prior to start
New York State Medical License – Required or willing to obtain
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications – Required by start date
Strong clinical judgment and collaborative skills
H-1B visa candidates accepted; J-1 waivers not accepted
Local candidates within 30 miles not eligible through agencies

Working Hours

Shift options: 8, 10, or 12 hours
Call rotation: 1 in 5 (first call every 8th night, no second call)
Cardiac cases per day: 6–8
Number of ORs: 30
Patient population: Primarily adult and geriatric, with occasional pediatric cases

Proficiency in advanced cardiac anesthesia techniques and TEE
Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings

Ability to thrive in a high-volume, collaborative clinical environment
