LOCUM ANESTHESIOLOGIST *130070: Northwest, Iowa
Specialty: Cardiac Anesthesiologist
Practice Setting: OR/Surgery Dept. Level 2 trauma center
Dates/Coverage Needed: Beginning ASAP - Ongoing
Schedule Details: Monday-Friday from 6 am - 3 pm with occasional weekday calls from 3 pm - 6 am. Hours may vary depending on needs.
Call Details:
1st Call - Provider can go home once all the cases finish and will only come back in if a case adds or called for a central line.
2nd Call - Provider will usually stay late, tends to be back up if a non-cardiac Anesthesiologist is 1st call.
Call Ratio: 1 in 5
Average # of surgical cases per day: 13
# of ORs: 12
Patient Demographic: Mostly adult/geriatric. No complicated adolescent procedures.
Case Mix: Cardiac experience is required
Procedures Required: General Surgical Cases Adult, General Surgical Cases - pediatric, Minor Nerve Blocks, IV Regional anesthesia, Plexus anesthesia, Open Heart Anesthesia, Thoracic Cases, Complex Vascular Cases, Complex Orthopedic Cases, Spinal Anesthesia, Epidural Anesthesia, Regional Anesthesia, Neurosurgical Cases, Ventilation Management, Local Infiltration
Pain Management Procedures: Acute
Insertion of: Central Line, Arterial line, PA Catheter
Evaluation and Management of Acute Volume / BP Issues required
MUST be willing to perform heart cases
Support Staff/Supervision: Yes. It will be almost 100% supervision. The CRNAs are very experienced. They work together with the anesthesiologists. The anesthesiologists do oversee.
Active IA License: Yes, or IMLC required in order to present
Board Certified: Yes
Required Certifications: BLS/ACLS/PALS
Flights/Lodging/Rental or Mileage: All covered
Credentialing Time-Frame: 60 days
