Requirements :

Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology (preferred). Board-eligible candidates will be considered.

Active Iowa License or IMLC (Required; must upload copy of LOQ at time of name clear).

TEE Certified—must be able to read, interpret, and bill TEE procedures (Required).

Cardiac Fellowship (preferred) or extensive experience in cardiac anesthesia (if TEE certified).

BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (Required).

COVID-19 Vaccinated (Required).

Availability for the specified dates of coverage (Required).

Practice Setting: Hospital-Based, with occasional oversight of CRNAs at an ASC if no cardiac cases are scheduled.
Job Responsibilities
Practice Setting: Hospital based. On rare occasions may need to oversee CRNAs at the ASC if no cardiac cases are scheduled and a physician is needed at the ASC location.
Trauma Level: II
Documentation System/EMR: Cerner (moving to Epic, some paper records)
Average Number of Surgical Cases per Day:
1 cardiac surgery per day (not every day)
5-7 general surgeries per day
Number of Operating Rooms: 8 operating rooms in use at one time
Number of Anesthesiologists in Practice: 6
Patient Age Demographics:
Adolescent
Child (very sick children are sent to other hospitals better equipped for pediatric care)
Adult
Geriatric
Qualifications
