Anesthesiologist – Locum or Permanent Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Anesthesiologist to join a high-functioning, friendly team in a community-based hospital setting. This role offers a diverse and rewarding case mix, with an emphasis on teamwork, strong clinical skillsets, and open communication across departments.

Schedule:

Elective cases run Monday–Friday, starting at 7:30 AM
-
No elective cases are scheduled past 5 PM, with most wrapping up by 3 PM
-
On-call rotation: 7–8 days per month including 1 weekend per month
-
Call coverage is 24 hours; weekday call shift is ideally 12 PM–8 PM, but may start earlier if needed
-
Post-call day off (including Mondays after weekend call)

On-Call Response Time:

Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes for emergent cases

General Surgery (including robotics)

Urology (including robotics)

ENT (including pediatric ENT)

Vascular & Thoracic (including robotics)

OB/GYN (includes epidurals and C-sections)

Orthopedics (no spine)

Podiatry

Endoscopy (gastroscopies and colonoscopies)

ECTs
-
Out-of-OR cases: Cath Lab, EP Lab, MRI, CyberKnife, Interventional Radiology

Emergency assistance: occasional intubations in the ED or inpatient units

Case Volume (Hospital Size Insight):

Average of 11 OR cases per day (excluding endoscopy and out-of-OR)

257–312 anesthesia cases per month (including all types)

3,081 total anesthesia cases in the last fiscal year
Support & Supervision:
-
CRNAs work independently under MD supervision (not medical direction)

Anesthesiologists may oversee the OR board but may also be hands-on when needed (e.g., emergencies)

Anesthesia techs assist with OR turnover

Strong nurse relationships across pre-admit, intraop, PACU, and endoscopy

Able to collaborate well with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia colleagues

Skilled in regional anesthesia, invasive line placements (A-lines, central lines)

Confident in handling thoracic cases
