Job Summary
Trained to provide pain relief and maintenance or restoration of a stable condition during and immediately following an operation or an obstetric or diagnostic procedure. Also provides medical management and consultation in pain management and critical care medicine. Anesthesiologists diagnose and treat acute, longstanding and cancer pain problems; diagnose and treat patients with critical illnesses or severe injuries; perform direct resuscitation in the care of patients with cardiac or respiratory emergencies, including the need for artificial ventilation; and supervise post anesthesia recovery.Job Duties

Competitive Compensation Packages
- Base Salary: $500,000
- $560,000+ with experience
- Salary increases each year

- Dental: Basic or Enhanced coverage, including orthodontic under the Enhanced plan
- Vision: Free annual eye exam, eyewear allowances, and laser-vision discounts
- Malpractice: Professional liability insurance provided, with tail coverage addressed within Geisinger’s malpractice program during contracting

- Geisinger Employer Retirement Contributions:
- Geisinger contributes 9% of your eligible earnings, totaling $24,500 annually
- 403(b) and 457(b) options included
- Employer contributions vest after 3 years (1,000 hours/year)
