We are seeking a skilled Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Physician to join our team in Kenansville, NC. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with call coverage beginning at 3:00. The schedule is shared with one additional anesthesiologist, and CRNAs are first call, with anesthesiologists present for all in operating room procedures. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities, providing anesthesia services for a variety of surgical cases.

Hospital Information:

  • Inpatient census: Approximately 34 patients per day.
  • Average number of admissions per day: 7-10 during the day, 4 during the night.
  • Approximately 175 surgical cases per month.
  • No robotic or vascular surgery.
  • No ICU/critical care duties or code response required.
  • Locum Tenens physicians will not be expected to serve as backup in the ER.

Requirements:

  • Board certification in Anesthesiology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to provide anesthesia independently and manage pediatric anesthesia cases on healthy children.
  • Comfortable with bread and butter surgical cases including General Surgery, ENT, Orthopedics, OB-Gyn, Optometry, Pediatric Dental, and Endoscopy (pediatrics > age 2).
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with staff and patients.
