Situated around the picturesque harbor of Lake Michigan, Muskegon offers a vibrant community known for its fishing, sailing regattas, and commercial- and cruise-ship port.

Job Description:

  • State-of-the-art hospital designated as a Level 2 trauma center.
  • Boasts 20 operating rooms, 5 heart and vascular rooms, 6 endoscopy rooms, and 2 c-section suites.
  • The physician will join a professional, confident, and friendly team of physicians. The group practices a care team model, providing medical direction over CRNAs. However, there is still opportunity to personally perform anesthesia.
  • The facility has dedicated time to improving the efficiency of the OR and the quality of care for patients. They are currently working on the roll out of our Surgical Optimization Service where patients will undergo a consistent and comprehensive review/tune up prior to surgery.
  • The facility utilizes peripheral nerve blocks and advanced regional techniques to reach enhanced recovery goals with our surgical colleagues. Candidates are expected to be proficient or will be trained to perform many of the basic peripheral nerve blocks (e.g. popliteal, saphenous, adductor canal, erector spinae, TAP, brachial plexus blocks etc).
  • Call and holidays are shared among the group in a manner that creates individual hourly and compensation flexibility.
  • Variety of cases including orthopedic (elective + trauma), GI, gynecology, ENT, vascular, neurosurgery, interventional cardiology, full scope cardiothoracic, healthy pediatrics, and robotics.
  • Schedule offers a mix of 8, 10, 12, and 16-hour shifts.

Qualifications

Active MD/DO MI license
BC/BE
Active DEA
Clean malpractice and background history strongly preferred
Current, up-to-date CV with mm/yyyy format (including locums history)
ACLS and BLS certifications

Working Hours

Schedule offers a mix of 8, 10, 12, and 16-hour shifts.
