Assistant Medical Director, Anesthesia Services

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking an experienced physician leader to assist with managing its anesthesia services. The Assistant Medical Director of Anesthesia Services will oversee the services of all credentialed anesthesiologists and CRNAs. This is a hybrid position with Carilion Clinic and Anesthesia Consultants of Virginia. The Assistant Medical Director will initially be part time with Carilion Clinic with an increase in hours in the future. Responsibilities include ensuring efficient, safe, and accessible quality anesthesia services while assuring compliance and accreditation, and utilization review.

The emergency department at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is one of the busiest in the State of Virginia, with over 80,000 visits annually. Nearly 45,000 surgical cases are performed annually in our 38 ORs and 9 endoscopy suites.

Job Requirements
M.D./D.O. and board certification/recertification by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology
Eligible for appointment to Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
Five (5) years post-residency clinical experience
Ability to obtain unrestricted Virginia medical license and DEA registration
Leadership experience and proven success
Results oriented, self-motivated with a philosophy of collaborative teamwork
