Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Dayton, Ohio. This assignment offers weekday-only day shifts in a high-volume, hospital-based surgical environment, providing anesthesia services across a wide range of pediatric and neonatal surgical specialties.
The position is ideal for pediatric anesthesiologists looking for a structured Monday–Friday schedule, no call, and the opportunity to work within a collaborative anesthesia care team model that includes CRNAs and experienced perioperative staff. The practice supports anesthesia services for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and select adult cases, excluding cardiac and transplant surgery.
Job Responsibilities
• Deliver anesthesia care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
• Manage general anesthesia for complex surgical cases
• Supervise CRNAs as part of a collaborative care team model
• Independently manage assigned operating rooms when needed
• Perform perioperative airway and ventilation management
• Participate in anesthetic planning and intraoperative monitoring
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and perioperative teams
• Maintain accurate and timely anesthesia documentation
Qualifications
• Fellowship-trained in Pediatric Anesthesiology
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
• Experience with neonatal and pediatric anesthesia cases
• Proficiency in thoracic, orthopedic, and neurosurgical anesthesia (non-cardiac)
• Ability to supervise CRNAs in a care team model
• Active Ohio medical license (preferred)
• Clean malpractice history and NPDB self-query within required timeframe
Working Hours
• Day shifts (approximately 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• No call
• No weekends
