Job description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a locums Anesthesiologist to provide hospital-based operating room coverage at a Children's Hospital in support of a maternity leave. This role involves a high-volume pediatric-focused surgical environment with a mix of independent practice and supervision of CRNAs in a care team model. The position offers weekday daytime hours in an ACS Level I Trauma Center with a collaborative, well-established anesthesia department.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Reason for Coverage: Maternity leave
Job Details & Responsibilities
-
Provide anesthesia services in hospital-based operating rooms
-
Average 50–60 surgical cases per day (department volume)
-
Patient population ranges from neonatal to adult, with a strong pediatric focus
-
Mix of solo anesthesia care and supervision of CRNAs in a care team model
-
No responsibility for anesthesia cart preparation
-
Deliver pediatric anesthesia services across all subspecialties except cardiac surgery and transplant surgery

Practice setting details:

ACS Level I Trauma Center

14 operating rooms
-
22 anesthesiologists in the group
-
Annual ED volume: ~70,000 visits

Collegial OR team including RNs, surgical techs, PCAs, surgeons, APPs, and proceduralists

Travel expenses reimbursed (flight, hotel, rental car, mileage per IRS standard rate)
Required Skills & Qualifications
-
Board Certified Pediatric Anesthesiology – required
-
Active Ohio medical license – highly preferred
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications – required

Experience with required procedures, including:
-
General surgical anesthesia (neonatal, pediatric, and adult)
-
Thoracic cases (excluding open heart)
-
Complex orthopedic cases
-
Neurosurgical cases
-
Ventilation management
-
-
Preferred experience with:
-
Pediatric pain management services
-
Arterial line insertion
-
Evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues

Self-Query NPDB report pulled within one month – required at presentation

Must meet established rate requirements

Ability to complete fingerprinting immediately upon acceptance

Submission of full credentialing details at acceptance to avoid delays (licenses, certifications, CAQH access, and identifying information)
