The Department of Anesthesiology under the direction of Dr. Ronald Harter, Chair, is recruiting a full time Associate Professor or Professor for the position, Director of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesiology.

This successful candidate will lead a clinical staff that provides coverage for cardiovascular, major vascular, thoracic, catheter-based and cardiac electrophysiological cases in the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and University Hospitals. Candidates who have demonstrated the ability to develop and maintain clinical operations, to support residency and fellowship training programs, are engaged in the research mission, and have exhibited administrative experience will be considered. Rank of appointment is open and will be determined consonant with prior professional and academic accomplishments, although a rank of Associate Professor or Professor is desired. Demonstration of national reputation in cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesiology is expected.

Qualifications:

Board Certified in Anesthesiology

Active certification in perioperative Transesophageal echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography

Unrestricted Ohio medical license

Successful completion of a fellowship program in cardiothoracic anesthesiology. Candidates who did not complete a fellowship that have extensive experience as an academic cardiothoracic anesthesiologist will be considered.

Demonstrated success in faculty mentorship

Demonstrated teaching excellence and high impact scholarly publications desired
