Are you a Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist with strong cardiac capabilities seeking a lucrative holiday coverage assignment? A 220+ bed Level III Trauma Center in eastern Indiana is seeking a skilled anesthesiologist for a targeted 1-week block from December 21 to December 28, 2026. Featuring standard daytime operating room hours, a supervisory team structure, and a clear cardiac call block, this position offers an outstanding short-term engagement.

The Opportunity

Step into a leading regional hospital setting to provide comprehensive cardiac and general anesthesia care, working alongside experienced CRNAs and surgical staff.

• Clinical Scope: Provide full-spectrum anesthesiology care across adult, pediatric, and specialized surgical services. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Direct management of complex cardiac procedures

  • Care for OB, orthopedic, vascular, spine, thoracic, and general surgical cases

  • Clinical supervision of certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs)

  • Autonomous order entry and patient management in the medical record

• Procedural Competencies: Providers must be comfortable and proficient independently executing:

  • Central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and dialysis catheter placements

  • Labor epidurals, spinals, postoperative epidurals, and extremity blocks (including fluoroscopy-guided blocks)

  • Airway management, ventilation, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, and temporary transvenous pacemaker placements

• The Schedule & Shift Breakdown:

  • Regular OR Hours: Monday through Thursday (Dec 21 – Dec 24), 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (8-hour shifts; daily overtime applies after 8 hours)

  • Dedicated Cardiac Call: Continuous call block starting December 24 at 7:00 AM through December 28 at 7:00 AM (covering the December 24 & 25 holidays)

  • Night Call: None during regular weekday shift days

Candidate Requirements

Application must include verified 12-month procedure logs to be considered by the clinical review team.

• Training & Board Status: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Anesthesiology (BE candidates must be within 5 years of residency completion). Fellowship training in Adult Cardiac Anesthesiology is preferred; non-fellowship candidates are accepted with documented cardiac case volume and a signed attestation.

• Licensure: Active, unencumbered Indiana State Medical License or active IMLC eligibility.

• Life Support: Active BLS certification required (ACLS required if requesting conscious sedation privileges).

• Case Logs & Experience: Mandatory 12-month procedure logs demonstrating recent volume across cardiac, line placements, and regional blocks.

• Supervisory Comfort: Documented experience directing and supervising CRNAs in a care-team model.

• Health Requirements: Documented Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations or approved medical/religious exemptions.
